Here’s our list of some favorite resources and organizations.

National Resources

  • AsylumConnect: this free web and mobile resource platform instantly matches LGBTQ+ people fleeing persecution with verified safe legal, medical, mental health, and social service providers across North America.

  • Detention Watch Network: a national coalition to abolish immigration detention in the United States.

  • FindHello: an app available as a website or for download on your mobile device. It helps immigrants, asylum seekers, and refugees find nearby resources on a searchable map.

  • Freedom for Immigrants: an organization fighting to expose and abolish U.S. immigration detention.

  • National Bail Fund Network: made up of over ninety community bail and bond funds across the country.

Faith-Based Resources

  • Evangelical Immigration Table: a national movement of Christians committed to learning more about what the Bible says about “welcoming the stranger,” and living out these biblical principles in our churches, our communities, and our nation.

  • Evangelical Lutheran Church in America: their message on immigration presents basic themes for discernment on questions of immigration that our society is facing.

  • Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS): drawing on their Jewish values and history, HIAS provides vital services to refugees and asylum seekers around the world and advocates for their fundamental rights so they can rebuild their lives.

  • Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS): simply put, LIRS resettles refugees, reunites children and parents, and rekindles the American Dream.

  • Mennonite Central Committee: (MCC) helps to educate about immigration issues; advocates for sensible, humane immigration laws; works to build peace in communities along the U.S.-Mexico border; and provides documentation services to help immigrants navigate the complex immigration system.

Local Colorado Resources

  • American Friends Service Committee: AFSC Denver organizes allies, faith communities, and immigrants along the Front Range to support immigrant justice.

  • Colorado Hosting Asylum Network: an organization that petitions for the release of asylum seekers from detention and hosts them in a private home for the duration of their legal process, or until they obtain a work permit and can establish independence.

  • Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition: a statewide, membership-based coalition of immigrant, faith, labor, youth, community, business, and ally organizations.

  • IRIS Project: resource directory for Colorado immigrants, refugees, asylees, and their allies.

  • Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN): working to ensure justice for adults in immigration detention and for immigrant children who have suffered from abuse, neglect, or violence.

  • UndocuHub: connecting Colorado’s undocumented community to meaningful support services.

  • Capital Good Fund: gives small loans at reduced rates to help immigrants, their families and friends to hire lawyers like Knudson Associates.

  • Colorado Immigrant Justice Fund: raises legal funds for immigrants who currently are, or recently have been detained, in detention centers around the country.
